Approaching the plot situated in Calle 18, from the Avenida Pere Matutes Noguera, a scenario designed mostly for touristic experience, seems far from the will to question a system that is slowly destroying the doubtless value of a landscape, that through ages has formed a continuous  structure of house-land, appreciable in the whole island.

Surrounded still by a type of field that resists the challenge of an industrial model, that only values the soil as a support of possible consumption, our proposal appears as an hinge between rural and urban words, that suggests the recover of a territorial model that fosters respect for the environment where it is located, implementing environmental measures that allow to reach high levels of self-sufficiency, as our time demands.

A simple and sober architecture, whose main facades are oriented toward South, with a slight inclination to the West, proposes a great porch that, articulating the two main volumes that gather all of the housings, contributes to the climatic control of the whole, containing the main access, the parking lots and a gardening area designed to promote social activities and awareness.

Respecting the territorial mantle that involves the intervention, the ground floor is freed from the ground at its borders, dialoguing with small farms nearby. Taken the height, a volume of 4 plans, located at the bottom of the parcel, and another one of 2 levels, located up front, contain some gallery dwellings – Southwest Northwest – constituted of 1 and 2 bedrooms, and 2 and 3 rooms, respectively.

Certainly, as in the Ibizan estate, the prototype typology that is proposed, bets for spaces with views of the exterior that would have similar dimensions, so that the rooms use could easily be interchanged, according to the needs. For example, looking back at more ancient times, it would be effortless to remind the habit of sheltering from the cold in winter by occupying the room that is closer to the kitchen, while fleeing to the coldest facades during the hot summer nights.

Without forgetting the current demands, neither in the typologies has been dispensed with the enriching spaces for social relationships, that the porch provided to the rural houses; now new spaces for urban socialization, that reproduce in a smaller order what happens in a bigger scale of the project, because if in the principal access the porch appears reinterpreted as a large open air room, where the neighbors in the heights can give continuity to the surrounding rural activities, while being delighted by a multitude of local aromatic plants, in the housing entrance, the porch allows and size extension of inner spaces, toward the outdoors, facilitating community relations to happen in open spaces.
